The V60 in recent times has become my ‘go to’ brew method, I use my glass V60 at home and my plastic version at work and on my travels. The V60 is a pour over method and gets its name from the 60 degree V shaped cone. They come in plastic, glass, ceramic and even copper.
You will see this method in a lot of speciality coffee establishments, it gives quite easy control of the brew variables and you can brew single or up to four cups. If brewing single cup you can drip straight into your favourite mug; if brewing more there is a range of V60 servers available.
At £5 for a plastic version and £6 for 100 filters you just can’t argue with the value of this method. The copper version looks pretty and Hario claim improvements from even heat distribution to the coffee due to the thermal conductivity of the copper; but at £65 for the 1 to 4 cup version I will stick to my plastic one…. for now anyway 😉
You can purchase your V60 from the links below and get practicing your pour over methods and producing great coffee and home and on the road. When you have your own check out my Hario V60 Coffee Dripper Brew Guide
